2016 Art Summary

Bit of a slow start to the year, but then it became almost immediately hectic - I made a video game; an ad for TV; i went all out on the birthday gifts, making someone a fully rotoscoped animation; sold some prints at my first con; got my first commissions; did a transmedia comic that starts off as a book, turns into a webcomic and then becomes a fully animated short; graduated with my bachelor’s of animation; and just seconds ago, finished my shot for a community animation project…. lets just say I tried my best to distract myself from how crappy the year was :T

Green Friend

got fed up with my animation crashing half way through drawing the same damn frame over and over... so to calm down i drew my good, good friend C: and all of the things they like

Capstone Characters Crossover

Osomatsu-San Fanart

Finally did fanart of my second favorite anime!!

My new animation reel

Did my reel, recently - I wasn't awfully satisfied with my previous one, I actually redid the animation for 2 of the shots so it looked nice and spiffy

The Baman one was such an improvement, both in movement and how it shows form - I also made that pizza(?) more on model.

(Forgot to include it in the gifs, but the original, on the right, was done in 2013, and the re-done one, left, is 2016)

For the voice test, it was just a simple fix up - the 2014 versions were choppy and had weird poses, so I fixed it up a tad and gave Toon Bryn the updated design.

Leigh's Birthday

Doodle Day

I was in a doodle moodle, today - I got people on Tumblr to give me some things to draw - this is a compilation of what came from that

Hawkeye and realistic practice

I drew Hawkeye from Marvel's Avengers Assemble for someone's 21st

I've been practicing some more proportionally accurate characters - deviating away from the cartoony pictures, for a little moment

Arkac Redesign

This has been overdue for a while now - My writer/producer did a script for a monologue, and I auditioned and directed a very talented voice actor - everything is and has been ready to go, since the beginning of the year - I've just got to pick up the pace and actually get started!!

So here's the redesign of the character who will be starring in this animation:

Foster Hope

I did some rough animations, for charity, that aired on New Zealand television!!
Thanks to Mediaworks Foundation for giving us our first TV gig - this was a huge opportunity!!

Being short on time, gave us quite a few limitations - I would have liked their movements to flow better, but I think it still hides my short-cuts pretty well

(The orange and blue parts are the rough pass)

Usually I do more extreme cartoonier animation, so our director seemed a little nervous when he gave me this shot - I think I did well, with these more subtle animations - the plastic bag, when Reuben puts the bear in, could be improved - but all in all, I'm please with how this shot came out!!

I also did some character designs, that weren't used:

went for some more stylized stuff based on rubber hose animation and hanna barbera/UPA style

Deity Academy Got Accepted Into The Animex Film Festival

This is a picture I drew of Centeotl making friends with Anibot, the mascot of the Animex Film Festival, in celebration of our short film being screened there!!

Undertale Sprite Animations

Recently I've been doing some sprite animations of Sans and Papyrus from the game, Undertale.

His head was hard to animate, but the body was much easier - completely opposite to sans, actually
